Bravus Mining and Resources statement on inaccurate and misleading claims in Queensland Parliament

The following is attributable to a Bravus Mining and Resources spokesperson:

“Many of the things said about our business in Queensland Parliament yesterday are simply not true and we reject them entirely.

“The claim the Opposition made in Parliament that Queensland Treasury was suing us for ‘tax evasion’ is completely untrue.

“We have paid all royalties owed to the State on the coal we have exported from our Carmichael mine near Clermont in central Queensland and are proud to have done so.

“Our operations provide jobs for thousands of regional Queenslanders and opportunities for local businesses that drive economic and social prosperity in the communities our people call home.

“We resent being used by the Opposition for political point scoring. The Labor party themselves were the original architects of the royalty deferral agreement which was Labor’s own policy available to all mining companies.”
