Bravus Mining and Resources is committed to being a sustainable business. We use ethical business and governance practices, make a positive social impact, and minimise our environmental footprint.
For Bravus, sustainability involves operating safely, responsibility and cost-efficiently. We do this in order to achieve our purpose of becoming a leader in the supply of reliable, affordable energy to developing nations, to complement increasing use of renewable energy as the Asia-Pacific region transitions to a low-carbon future. This is sustainability at Bravus Mining responsibly defines us at Bravus, and sustainability is critical. Protecting the environment is second nature to us.
We are proud to be part of the Australian mining and resources industry, which is known globally as a leader in sustainable practices through its adherence to strong environmental standards, safety standards and voluntary standards.

Sustainability at Bravus means we want to support the development of our communities through increased opportunities and wellbeing.
At Bravus, we aim to be a leader in enhancing the health of our people and communities, and we are committed to encouraging a diverse and inclusive workforce.
We have a safety-first culture. We do everything we can to ensure our workplace is safe and secure, and we share responsibility for our own safety, and that of our workmates and community members.
We respect human rights and ensure that our business enhances the economic and social wellbeing of the communities in which we operate. Sustainability at Bravus means supporting our communities through local events and sponsorships, as well as opportunities for meaningful work in our regional areas. We respect the cultural heritage, customs, and traditions of First Nations people.
Throughout the construction of the Carmichael Mine and Rail project, we created more than 2,600 jobs and supported regional businesses with more than $1.5 billion in direct contracts.
Before we started mining operations in 2022 we recruited 280 skilled workers, including mechanics, electricians, diesel fitters and other trades, as well as operational positions.

The resources Bravus produces are an important part of global sustainable energy solutions providing lower-carbon power for an advancing world.
Our resources play a role in the transition to a net-zero economy through the supply of affordable and reliable power that developing nations need to electrify systems and reduce emissions.

Locally, at Bravus we uphold our responsibility to the environment and to its rehabilitation after mining. We work to minimise emissions, waste and water use, and to improve the efficiency of our operations while meeting our environmental obligations.
