Bravus mining jobs

We value our people and encourage the development of our skilled workforce to deliver and grow our operations in Australia.

The Carmichael Mine and Rail Project created more than 2600 direct jobs and thousands more indirect jobs for regional Queenslanders when it was being built. Additional “Carmichael jobs” were also generated by our contractors.

We supported regional Queensland as the primary employment hub for the Carmichael Project.

Throughout the construction period our priority employment regions were Townsville, Rockhampton, the Whitsundays, Isaac, Central Highlands, Charters Towers, Gladstone, Burdekin and Livingstone.

Now, with operations underway, we want you to join our team of dedicated, enthusiastic workers and fulfil the vision of the Carmichael Project to support local communities. We also have a traineeship program to help people enter the mining industry.

Creating mining jobs

Australia’s mining industry underpins our strong economy. In 2020 Australia’s resources exports made up more than 10 per cent of the economy, totalling $271 billion, according to Minerals Council of Australia analysis of ABS data.

State royalty taxes totalled more than $15 billion, helping governments fund hospitals, roads, and schools. Mining jobs are great jobs. In Australia in 2020 more than 240,000 people were employed in the resources industries, including more than 52,000 people in the coal industry.

Giulian Fichera, Project Engineer

Born and raised in Townsville, 24-year-old Giulian's career with Bravus started with a chance meeting with a project engineer.

He has relished the opportunity to be a part of the project from the very beginning.

“I really wanted to see something start from scratch – to be a part of a project from exploration to extraction of the actual mineral from the ground was a big selling point for me,” Giulian said.

“I love the people I work with, they’re always so willing to lend a hand and offer knowledge and experience – I just love what I do.”
