Bravus Mining and Resources statement on court proceedings against the Queensland Revenue Office

“We have paid all royalties owed to the State on the coal we have exported from our Carmichael mine near Clermont in central Queensland and wholly reject any suggestion we have not.

“We have repeatedly asked the Queensland Revenue Office (QRO) to provide a Gross Value Royalty Decision (GVRD) as this will prove we have paid every royalty dollar required to the people of Queensland.

“Despite, we say, being obliged to do so, the QRO has refused to provide us with a GVRD.

“We’re now seeking a ruling in the Supreme Court to order the Queensland Government to treat us like any other Queensland resources exporter and provide a GVRD calculation as requested.”
